Essay Writing Bootcamp

Our One-Week College Essay Boot Camp is designed to help students make major progress in a short amount of time. In five focused days, students will brainstorm ideas to craft a polished authentic personal essay. Kristina and Lisa will expertly guide them with personalized feedback in a supportive workshop environment. By the end of the week students walk away with stronger writing skills, a compelling essay, and momentum heading into the application season. 

August 10-14th 2026   Every day from 10am-2pm. Optional office hours from 2-4pm for any students needing extra assistance.

Kristina brings her expertise in education and strategic guidance to the Admissions Bootcamp. Holding a Certificate in College Admissions Counseling from UCLA and membership in IECA, she helps students find clarity and confidence throughout the application journey.

Lisa Whelan

English Teacher and Writing and Composition Specialist

Lisa has been a dedicated educator for over 20 years with a strong background in English instruction and student development.  Lisa also holds a Master's degree in School Administration.  She specializes in helping students develop strong, confident voices through writing. In addition to teaching in the classroom, she has taught a variety of writing courses throughout the Portland area.

The bootcamp is specifically designed for rising high school seniors who want to complete their personal statements and supplemental essays before the busy school year begins.

Registration includes a one week, 15+ hours of expert instruction, personalized feedback on all essay drafts, curriculum materials, and a final review of your common app personal statement.
